Obituary Source: Mooresville Times, April 9, 1936 ====================== MOORESVILLE TIMES, April 9, 1936 Rites are Held for Octogenarian - Mrs. Salome Thompson, Lifelong Mooresville Resident, Dies. Funeral services for Mrs. Salome Thompson, 85 years old, life long resident of Mooresville, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Friends church with the Rev. Albert I. Copeland, pastor, in charge. The choir, directed by Miss Agnes Lamont, sang, and flowers were carried by the following members of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of which Mrs. Thompson was a member; Mrs. R. D. Sellars, Mrs. Elmina Farmer, Mrs. William Apple, and Mrs. A. J. Hylton. Virl E. Stanley of Plainfield, Ralph Keller, Elvin Shepherd, Vanve Keller, Perry Keller, and Orval Keller, nephews, were pall bearers. Burial was in Mooresville Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson died last Thursday night about 10 o'clock at the home of her brother, O.M. Keller. She had been critically sick for six weeks, having suffered two paralytic strokes, and a fall in which she was injured seriously. She was born in Mooresville, the daughter of Fredrick Keller and Eunice Bray Keller. She was a member of the Friends church. Her husband, Sylvester Thompson, died nine years ago, and their only child, Rose Ella, died at the age of 19 years. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Shepherd, of Mooresville, and Mrs. Sue Stanley of Plainfield, two brothers, O.M. Keller and Lewis Keller, of Mooresville and a foster daughter, Mrs. O.E.
