Born November 17, 1905, at Frys Valley, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Laura (Shull) Kohler. She was a housewife and lived most of her life in Carroll County. She was a member of the former Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Kilgore. She is survived by three sons, Gerald E. Kohler of Scio, Melvin J. Kohler of Amsterdam, and Rodger D. Kohler of Bowerston; one daughter, Iverna Simmons of Carrollton; two sisters, Julia Ankron of New Philadelphia and Vandelia Zeller of Fairfield, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Earl Kohler, whom she married June 16, 1927, and who died May 22, 1973; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 22 in the Allmon-Dugger & Hively Funeral Home at Carrollton with Rev. Paul Camp officiating. Burial will be in Jewett Fairview Cemetery.
