Galen Robert Kuhns was born at Anamosa July 6, 1927, the son of Lestus L. and Nellie C. Henrichs Kuhns. He received his education in Jones county schools and attended Monticello high school. He had lived all his life on the family farm near Scotch Grove. He was married to Georgia Ann Grabbe Dec. 12,1947. They became the parents of three children. Mr. Kuhns was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Laurel A. at home and Mrs. Larry (Gale D.) Tedrow of Monticello; and a son, Tim R. of Monticello. Also surviving are two brothers, Myron of Scotch Grove and Kermit of Monticello; five sisters, Mrs. Renk (Lois) Eilers of Monticello, Mrs. Robert (Celestia) Gerdes of Langworthy, Mrs. Paul (Eunice) Allen of Onslow, his twin sister Mrs. Merle (Greta) Aldrich of Wyoming and Mrs. Melvin (Arlene) Holub of Fennimore, Wis. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Casketbearers were Irvin Husmann, Delbert Husmann, Ray Freese, Duane Herren, Ben Otten and Luverne Plueger.
