Description	:	George E. Dunning, for the past sixteen years a resident of Centralia, died at his home in South Centralia last Thursday morning, cancer of the stomach causing his death. The cancer has been troubling him since last October and he has done nor work since December. For the last ten days he was compelled to take to his bed, and the end was expected when it came. Dunning, for the past sixteen years a resident of Centralia, died at his home in South Centralia last Thursday morning, cancer of the stomach causing his death. The cancer has been troubling him since last October and he has done nor work since December. For the last ten days he was compelled to take to his bed, and the end was expected when it came. Mr. Dunning was born in Seneca Falls, N. Y., December 18, 1838. He was married to Miss Ida Krona, Dec. 18, 1869. He moved from Michigan to New York and from that state came to Washington on May 20, 1889, where he has resided ever since. In 1890 his wife died in Centralia. Mr. Dunning was a veteran of the civil war, serving with distinction in Company G, Thirteenth New York State volunteers from 1861 to 1863. He again enlisted as a private in the 161st Regiment, New York Volunteers in 1864 and was mustered out in 1865 at the end of the war. He never affiliated with the G.A.R. and was a member of no fraternal or religious order. At one time he was a member of the Christian church and held a position as a Sunday school teacher until a few years ago. For the past few years he has been a yard foreman at the Salzer Valley Lumber Co.'s mills in Centralia. He had six children, three of whom are living today. They are: S. K. Dunning of Bordeau, Wash., Georgia Estelle Dunning-Guslander, of Olympia, and Vernon Harley, of Centralia. The other three children were: Winifred, Ernest Lee and baby Ida. The funeral services were held on Sunday at the Christian church, Rev. Haskell preaching the sermon. The interment was made in Mountain View cemetery.
