Jones, a resident of this community since 1880, had passed away that morning at her home here after a comparatively short illness. Jones, a resident of this community since 1880, had passed away that morning at her home here after a comparatively short illness. Funeral services, in charge of Rev. E. O. Cooley were held at the Methodist Episcopal church here Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. A quartet composed of Leo Kinnick, Keith and Dale Textor and Jack Rogers sang several hymns. Pall bearers were. Lester Patrick, Ray Harvey, Perry Laughrey, John A. Bell, Cliff Webber,and Ed Anderson. Interment was in the Coon Rapids cemetery. Grace Bowman Jones was born in Powesheik county, Iowa, Feb. 18, 1877 and died at her home in Coon Rapids, December 26, 1935, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 8 days. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bowman, to Audubon county in 1880 and later came with them to Coon Rapids in 1897. She married John F. Jones Nov. 20, 1901 and to this bunion two daughters were born; Mrs. J. A. McCabe of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Charles T. Ryan of Rancho Sante Fe, California Following a four years residence in Ralston, they moved to Coon Rapids, where she lived until her demise, She affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of 15 and took an active part in all departments of church work. She was a member of D. W. Chapter P. E. O., of the Home Culture club and the Gleaner's class of the M. E.church. She was much attached to her family, took pride in her flowers and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to others. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. J. A. McCabe of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Charles Ryan of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; six grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Bowman; and three sisters, Mrs. Carl V. Ford of Storm Lake and Miss Nellie Bowman of Tulsa, Okla.; and Mrs. Charles Price of Des Moines, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
