Description	:	Mrs. J. L. Palmquist in failing health for the last two years, died Thursday at her home here. She was a resident of Villisca 36 years. Grace Marie Higgins was born May 28, 1886 in Villisca and received her education in the public schools here. She was married September 6, 1905 to John L. Palmquist of Stanton where they made their home until June 1907, when they came to Villisca to reside. Five children were born to them, all of whom, with the husband and father survive. She was a resident of Villisca 36 years. Grace Marie Higgins was born May 28, 1886 in Villisca and received her education in the public schools here. She was married September 6, 1905 to John L. Palmquist of Stanton where they made their home until June 1907, when they came to Villisca to reside. Five children were born to them, all of whom, with the husband and father survive. They are Paul R. Palmquist, Rock Island, Illinois; John W. Palmquist, Villisca; St. Carl A. Palmquist, Fort Bliss, Texas; Cpl. Clark L. Palmquist in the South Pacific, Ruth V. St. Cloud, Praie Du Sac, Wisconsin. Mrs. Palmquist leaves also 6 grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters. The four brothers are Frank, and George Higgins Villisca, Mrs. Mary Wade, Soldier, Iowa, Mrs. Wayne Hull, Lorimore, Iowa, Ray Higgins, Woodbine, Iowa; Russell Higgins Scraton, Iowa, and Mrs. Vernice Moore, Maxwell, Iowa. Mrs. Palmquist was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Degree of Honor Lodge. Her body was taken to the Wolfe Funeral Home and funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church, Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. E. W. Thompson in charge. The singing was by Mrs. H. H. Nordyke, and Mrs. L. W. Scott, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Elzene Russell. Members of the Degree of Honor served as the flower committee, and the pall bearers were C. M. Orr, C. M. Bunnell, C. G. English, Frank Hale, Clifford Pettengill, and e. E. Wiedeman. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. Father Paul Morosco of Clarinda was in charge of the short service at the Palmquist home and offered prayer at the grave.
