Description	:	Hannah Roxa Smith, daughter of DeLancy M. and Nancy Ann Parcher was born March 19th on a farm four miles northwest of Nodaway, Iowa and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl McCreedy at Randolph, Iowa on February 25, 1948 at the age of 71 years, 11 months, ad 6 days. She was united in marriage to Francis L. Smith on March 14, 1900 and to this union were born two children, Mrs. Elsie McCreedy of Randolph, Iowa and Mearl Smith of Lenox, Iowa. She is survived by one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Edvina Bowers and Frank Parcher of Nodaway, Iowa and Noah Parcher of Custer, Washington, also 13 grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends. Her husband, parents, three brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren preceded her in death. Roxa, as she was most commonly called, spent most of her life around Nodaway, Iowa, until failing health, and then she went to live with her daughter. In early childhood she was united with the church and was a faithful member as long as her health would permit. She was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services were held at the M. E. Church in Nodaway, Tuesday at 2 p.m., February 27, with Rev. H. B. Kishpaugh in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. Harold Everett, Mr. and Mrs. Kishpaugh and Martin Taylor with Mrs. C. N. Kennedy at the piano. Pall bearers were C. N. Kennedy, Bert Kernen, F. P. Carothers, Wm. Lacox, Floyd Agnew, and Joe Mason. Burial was in Nodaway Cemetery. Adams County Free Press, March 8, 1945, page 9
