Description	:	Harold Oliver Smith, the only child of Edward and Lillie Moon Smith, was born December 19, 1901, at Ong, Nebraska, and passed away June 10, 1982, at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 21 days. Harold spent his childhood days in Nelson, attended rural schools and Nelson High School. He lived his entire life in Nelson, except for five year (sic) when he lived at Clay Center, Nebraska. Harold spent his childhood days in Nelson, attended rural schools and Nelson High School. He lived his entire life in Nelson, except for five year (sic) when he lived at Clay Center, Nebraska. September 4, 1920, Harold was united in marriage to Helen Petty at Nelson. To this union six children were born. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nelson, where he has been a member for 50 years. Harold waspreceded (sic) in death by both of his parents and a son, Donald. Survivors include his wife, Helen of Nelson; four sons, Gene of Nelson, Dale of Tucson, Arizona, Jack of Oregon City, Oregon, and David of Miami, Florida; a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Joan) Crandell of Cozad; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 12, at 2 p.m. in United Methodist Church at Nelson with Revs. Marion Knoell and Paul Samuelson officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery.
