Services were held a 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasanton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karla Sheffy officiating. Burial was at the Pleasanton Cemetery. Harriet was born February 2, 1914 in Pleasanton to John and Rose (Hadwiger) Sheckler. She grew up in Pleasanton and was graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1932. She worked at Phillips Market for 44 years until her retirement in 1976. Her husband died in 1980. She was a member of the church, UMW, Ladies Aid, Sunflower Kensington, and the Pleasanton Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, sewing, gardening, and cooking wonderful dinners for family and friends who could also plan on enjoying her baked goods at Christmas. Survivors include her sister, Marsella Ewer of North Platte; and special friend, Melvin Horton of Kearney. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.
