Read More	Harry Lynn Hoover, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, January 4, 2016 at the Kansas Veteran’s Home in Winfield. Born June 22, 1931 in Malvern, Iowa, he was the son of Harry Allen and Miriam Othello (Shook) Hoover. He was raised and educated in Malvern. Harry joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He served three years and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant Quartermaster. He was united in marriage to Betty Jean McWhorter on August 29, 1951 in Centralhatchee, Georgia. As a young man, Harry worked as a farmer and later for Union Carbide. He was part owner of Hoover Electrical, heating, air and insulation in Iowa. He also worked in the maintenance department at Vogel Popcorn Packaging Company. Mr. Hoover retired in 1981 and he and Betty moved to Burden, Kansas. While in Kansas, Harry worked as a truck driver for Galaxy Tool. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Winfield, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, model airplanes, camping, gardening, and music. His family includes: His wife: Betty Jean Hoover of Burden; His son: Andrew Hoover and wife, Leigh Ann of Burden; His daughter: Teresa Holst and husband, Carsten of Goddard; His brothers: Herbert Hoover and wife, Claudia; Joe Hoover and wife, Sharon; Samuel Hoover and wife, Jacqueline; His grandchildren: Justin Holst; Heidi Vulgamore and husband, Jarrod; Melanie Enderud and husband, Tommie; Rebbecca Hoover; and His great grandchildren: Natasha, Cody, and Takota Enderud. Harry was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation services will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2016 from 1 to 3 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Burial will take place at Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, Iowa at a later date. A memorial has been established in Harry’s name for Central Baptist Church. Contributions may be made at through the funeral home.
