Description	:	Hazel M. Willis, 72, and a long time Wenatchee Valley resident, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at the Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. She was born Aug. 17, 1928 to Elmer and Ella (Riley) Johnson in Perry County, Kentucky. At a young age, she moved with her family to Hamilton, OH where she attended school and graduated from high school. She married Maurice M. Willis on Nov. 9, 1946, in Hamilton. The couple moved to Wenatchee in 1952 and later to East Wenatchee in 1959. Through the '60s, Hazel worked as a secretary for Eastmont High School, Seafirst Bank and various other employers. In the '70s, Hazel received her LPN Degree and worked at the Eye and Ear Hospital, then at Central Washington Hospital. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Wenatchee. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Maurice of East Wenatchee; two daughters, Pamela Elkins of Bellevue and Robin Johnson of Wenatchee; two sons, Thomas Willis of Everett and Stephen Willis of East Wenatchee; one brother, Bob Johnson of Fairfield, OH; one sister, Mabel Keller of Hamilton, OH; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her brother Jay Johnson and both parents of Hamilton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Jones & Jones Colonial Chapel. Memorials may be made in Hazel's name to the American Diabetes Association and to the Free Methodist Church of Wenatchee. Arrangements are under the care of Jones & Jones Funeral Directors.
