Burrack Were Held This Morning At Castle Grove This community suffered the loss of a fine Christian gentleman with the death Monday evening, December 7, of Heinrich Janssen Burrack. Mr. Burrack, who had been a resident of Monticello since 1912, passed away at his home after having been practically bedfast since October 27. He had been tenderly cared for by his wife and daughters. Funeral services were held this morning at 10:30 at the house and 11:00 o'clock at the Castle Grove Lutheran church. Rev. John Reents of Renwick, IA and Rev. A. Thalacker officiated at the services. Burial was made in the family lot in the Castle Grove cemetery. Henrich Janssen Burrack was born February 3, 1855, at Marx, Ostfriesland, Germany, the son of John Hinrich Burrack and Marguareta Katherina Siefken. He was baptized March 16, 1855 and later on April 10, 1870 confirmed in the Lutheran church in Repsholt by Rev. DeBur. At Friedeburg he learned the trade of a miller which he followed in later life. In 1874 he came to the United States where he settled at Petersburg, Ill. Here he engaged in farm work until 1881, when on Jan. 25 of that year he married Engeline Zimmerman. After the marriage the couple lived on a farm near Langworthy for five years, later moving to Castle Grove where, in the course of time they purchased 500 acres of land. They retired from active farm work on March 1, 1912, moving to Monticello where they have since lived. Mr. Burrack made a return trip to his fatherland in 1907.He remained in good health up to two years ago when he approached his eightieth birthday. His 50th wedding anniversary was celebrated in 1931. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Henry of Hopkinton, Lewis of Monticello, and Rev. William Burrack of Hartford, South Dakota, two daughters, Mrs. Anna Willms of Wayne township and Miss Augusta Burrack at home, and eight grandchildren. Two children have preceded their father in death. He also leaves three brothers, Enno and George at Strawberry Point, and Fred at Arlington.
