Born Oct. 5, 1881 on a farm near Langworthy, he was a son of John and Angeline Zimmerman Burrack and attended the Jones county schools. He married Mary Gienapp of Hopkinton, Dec. 29, 1909. They spent two years on a farm in North Dakota before returning to Iowa to make their home on the parental John Burrack farm west of Monticello. In 1937 they moved to a farm west of Hopkinton where they lived until retiring to town in 1942. Mr. Burrack operated a threshing machine in Castle Grove for many years. He was a member of the Lutheran church. One daughter, Louise, preceded him in death in 1918. Surviving are his wife; two daughters,Mrs. Wilma Edwards of Sully and Mrs. Francis (Lorna)Arthur of Edgewood; two sons, John of Hopkinton and Paul of Marion; 16 grandchildren; two sisters, Augusta Burrack and Mrs. John Wilms of Monticello; and a brother, Rev. William Burrack of Denver.
