Keltner passed away yesterday morning about seven o'clock at his home on West Washington St. Mr. Keltner suffered a stroke of paralysis about five years ago and has been in failing health ever since. Henry B. Keltner was the son of David and Martha Keltner and was born in Jefferson county, October 30, 1840. March 9th, 1862, he was married in this county to Sarah J. Ankrom and to this union were born 10 children, all save three of whom survive their father. They are William, Franklin H., and C. E. Keltner of this city; David A. Keltner of Spencer; D. D. Kelner, of Des Moines; Mrs. Mary McKenzie, of Washington; Clarence Keltner, of Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Rose E. Brown; Mattie and an infant son preceded him in death. All the living children except Clarence were at the bedside when the father passed away. Mr. Keltner was a faithful member of the Christian church of Fairfield, and was known for his kind heart and generous disposition. He was a member of the A.O.W.W. and of the Patriarchs of Iowa. The funeral services were held from the Christian church this afternoon at two o'clock, in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly. Four sons and one grandson acted as pallbearers. Interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery.
