Description	:	Henry C. Graue, youngest son of August Graue, Sr., and Sophia, nee Finke, was born May 3, 1892, at Eagle, Nebraska. He departed this life on December 27, 1960, having reached the age of 68 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church at Eagle, Nebr. Graue, youngest son of August Graue, Sr., and Sophia, nee Finke, was born May 3, 1892, at Eagle, Nebraska. He departed this life on December 27, 1960, having reached the age of 68 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church at Eagle, Nebr. In 1908 he moved with his parents to Republic County, Kansas on a farm near Chester, Nebr., and became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Chester, Nebr. He remained a faithful member of this church until his death. He served in the armed forces of his county in World War I. On April 27, 1924, he was united in marriage to Anita Bartels in St. John's Lutheran Church of Chester by Rev. W.H. Becker and they lived in the Chester community all their married life. This union was blessed with five daughters and one son, all of whom survive their father. He will always be remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather. Having enjoyed relatively good health all his life and carrying on his duties as usual on Dec. 27 he was suddenly called to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away June 20, 1960; his parents and a sister, Mary, who died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his passing his six children: Mrs. Arlene Hoops and Mrs. Lucille Meyer, both of Deshler; Mrs. Norma Hoops of Hardy; Mrs. Donna Harms of Chester; Mrs. Mary Black of Hastings; and Harlan Graue of Chester; 12 grandchildren; one brother, August, of Chester; and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Jochens of Santee, Calif.; Mrs. Minnie Brettman of Deshler, Mrs. Lizzie Kapperman, Miss Rosina Graue and Miss Laura Graue, all of Chester, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted Friday, Dec. 30 by the Rev. E.C. Werner of Deshler in St. John Lutheran Church of Chester, of which Mr. Graue had been a member since 1908. Music was by Misses Norma Flathman and Karen Firnhaber, accompanied by W.C. Firnhaber. Casket bearers were Paul Grafelman, Alvin Holle, Walter Finke, Fred Kapperman, Charles Kuhlmann and Marvin Harmes. Burial was made in St. John cemetery (sic), Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge.
