Description	:	Note: in nearly all records, his surname was Fisher, not Fischer. Henry was born August 14, 1850 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Although the Civil War concluded in 1865, there were still battles in the American West. In 1875, when Henry was 26 years old, he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland for 5 years in the United States Army. He was 5'11¾", with blue eyes and a fair complexion. Although the Civil War concluded in 1865, there were still battles in the American West. In 1875, when Henry was 26 years old, he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland for 5 years in the United States Army. He was 5'11¾", with blue eyes and a fair complexion. He was working as a varnisher at the time, and he signed the papers just after a plasterer, and before 2 painters and a musician. At the time (from 1874-5)the United States was fighting the Comanche, Kiowa, Southern Cheyenne and Arapahoe in the Red River War. Henry was married to Laura Fenton, and they were blessed with at least two children. In 1880, he and the family were living at 119 2nd St., Missouri Valley, Iowa. The 1880 US Census lists: Henry H. Fisher, 29, head, drayman, b. OH Laura L. Fisher, 24, wife, b. IL Lusa Fisher, 1 month, daughter, b. IA Ella Hillard, 21, servant, b. IL His daughter Susie married Roy Farmer, of Keokuk, Iowa on June 6, 1902. Sadly, Henry Fisher died September 23, 1914.
