Description	:	Hilda J. Powers age 93, of Monticello died Tuesday morning, February 1, 2005 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 Friday afternoon, February 4, 2005 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rev. Fr. Carl Manternach will officiate at the services. B., Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband Joseph, 2 grandchildren, Charles and Barbara, a great-Grandson, Preston, a sister, Rose and 2 brothers, Ray and Clarence. Hilda J. Powers was born November 22, 1911 at Ossian, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred W. and Catherine Moellers, Zweibohmer. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. Hilda later attended the St. Francis DeSales School in Ossian where she was the top student in her class. Hilda J. Zweibohmer and Joseph Powers were married at Festina, Iowa. The couple lived in Ossian, Iowa until 1947 when they moved to Iowa City. In 1949 the couple moved to Castle Grove Township west of Monticello. They moved to Monticello in 1958. Hilda was employed at Georgia Pacific from 1956 until 1974. Joseph preceded her in death in 1975. Hilda was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
