Ida Katharina Burow, daughter of John and Ernastina Sands, was born March 24, 1890, in Woodbury County near Danbury. She married Frank Burow March 4, 1914, at Midway and they moved to a farm in Ida County where they resided for about two years. Then they moved to Morgan Township in Woodbury County where they lived until 1942 when they went to Cushing. Except for a year and a half that she lived with her daughter at Climbing Hill and the last year which she spent at the Correctionville nursing home, she lived the remainder of her life at Cushing. Mr. Burow died in 1954. They were parents of one daughter and one son. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dora) Harderson of Climbing Hill, one son, Albert Burow of Battle Creek, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and one brother, Robert Sands of Sioux City. She was preceded by her husband, parents, three sisters and eight brothers.
