Description	:	Ingvald Ness, the son of Hans and Isabel (Gulbranson) Ness, was born on Sept. 4, 1900, in Buena Vista County. He passed into eternal life on June 12, 1960 at Cherokee, Iowa, at the age of 59 years, 9 months. He had been in poor health for about eight years. He had resided in this vicinity most of his life, having lived at Linn Grove for 38 years, at Albert City for 5 years and in Peterson for 16 years. Read More	Ingvald Ness, the son of Hans and Isabel (Gulbranson) Ness, was born on Sept. 4, 1900, in Buena Vista County. He passed into eternal life on June 12, 1960 at Cherokee, Iowa, at the age of 59 years, 9 months. He had been in poor health for about eight years. He had resided in this vicinity most of his life, having lived at Linn Grove for 38 years, at Albert City for 5 years and in Peterson for 16 years. He was a farmer and followed this occupation until about two years ago when poor health forced his early retirement. He was baptized in the Little Sioux Valley Lutheran church and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran church of Linn Grove. He attended the rural schools near his boyhood home. He was married to Alma Olivia Forsberg in Pocahontas, Iowa on Feb. 3, 1923, at the parsonage there. To this union were born five children: Dwayne Arloe, now of Cherokee, Russell Arvid of Austin, Minn., Carmen Ovid of Westminister, Calif., Larry Berton of Austin, Minn., and Evelyn Alma (Mrs. Alexander Bollinger) of Aberdeen, Maryland. Besides his wife an children he leaves to cherish his memory three grandchildren: Scott Andrew Ness, Larry Berton Ness, Jr., and Lorny Wm. Ness; four brothers ; Raymond of Linn Grove, Leonard of Austin, Fred of Peterson, Carl of Sioux Rapids; two sisters: Mrs. Ed Lund of Dunnell, Minn., and Mrs. Maimie McCloud of Jeffers, Minn., as well as several nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives, and his many friends. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran church in Linn Grove, Rev. Eugene K. Hanson, clergyman. Music was furnished by H. G. Dokken, who sang "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Mrs. Stanley Patterson. Bearers were Art Reimstrom, Ira Small, Gerald Plagman, Alfred Plagman, Bernard Halverson and LeRoy Hanson. In charge of Flowers were Mrs. Herman Fowler, Mrs. Alice Davis and Miss Amelia Hanson.
