Read More	Isabelle Doty was born about 1857 in Marion County, Iowa, daughter of John Doty and Lucy Ann Harris Jones Doty. She married Nelson Brower on February 19, 1876 in Otley, Marion, Iowa. They had two children, Clarissa, born in December 1876 and Gerry born in November 1878. Isabelle died suddenly when Gerry was only 5 months old. ************* A very sad and sudden death occurred in this city yesterday afternoon about 2 o'clock, the victim of the sudden demise being Mrs. Isabella, wife of Nelson Brower, a workingman in this city. Mrs. Brower had been suffering from ague for some days, but on Sunday took medicine which seemed to have broken the disease up. Yesterday morning she took her babe, a few months old, and went to the residence of her father-in-law, Mr. Abraham Brower, near Stewart's pork house. Shortly after two o'clock she complained of sickness and taking her baby retired to a bedroom adjoining the room in which the family sat, saying that she would lie down a while. In a few minutes thereafter the family heard the baby crying and one of the ladies present entered the bedroom. Upon approaching the bedside she was horror stricken to find Mrs. Brower dead! She must have died immediately after entering the room as she had remained there but a few minutes before the cries of her infant attracted attention. Dr. Macrae was called and examined the body, but was unable to arrive at the cause of the sudden death definitely. He is, however, of the opinion that it was he result of a species of heart disease, the effect of which is very sudden. The husband of Mrs. Brower was away at work and knew not of the terrible calamity that had overtaken his little family until after 6 o'clock last evening, when he returned from work. The deceased leaves two children, the babe spoken of and a son [daughter] two years old.
