Read More	Funeral Services for J. Higgins Held Here Well known Villiscan Dies at University Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at his home for James A. Higgins of Villisca, 72, who died Thursday in University Hospital at Iowa City. Burial was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Mr. Higgins, son of Jacob and Margaret Higgins, was born at Hillsboro, Highland County, Oho, April 9, 1864. He came to Iowa when 6 years of age and resided in Montgomery County continuously, except for eighteen years spent in Page County and four years in Taylor County. He was united in marriage to Lou E. Shepherd at Villisca, December 2, 1896 and to this union were born four children, Mrs. Ona Wagaman of Creston and Fred Higgins, Jessie Wagaman, and Wilma Fisher, all of Villisca. Mrs. Higgins and the children survive. Also surviving are a sister, Lum Higgins of Villisca, 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The body was brought to the Pitman funeral home to await funeral arrangements. Pall bearers were Waldo Penton, Clyde McFarlin, M. E. Wending, John Christian, Elmo Day, and Roy Bryson. Music was furnished by Mrs. Maude Scott and Mrs. Harold Nordyke, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. R. L. Masey. Mrs. Avon Wending, and Mrs. Fred Fisher were in charge of the flowers.
