Description	:	JAMES EMMITT GLASCOE (October 6, 1930 - April 26, 2013) Mr. Glascoe was born at Galax, Virginia, to the late Emmitt Glascoe and Nora Brannock Glascoe. He was a U.S.Army Veteran, having served in the Korean Campaign. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Edwards Glascoe and daughter, Deborah Ann Glascoe. Surviving, four daughters and spouses, Kathy and Randy Bobbitt, Lisa and Mike Edwards, Becky Minor and fiance, Herbert Boone all of Sparta, NC, and Vickie and Jerry Saddler of Glade Valley, NC; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers and spouses, Robert and Nancy Glascoe of Galax, VA, and Quincy and Lillie... Surviving, four daughters and spouses, Kathy and Randy Bobbitt, Lisa and Mike Edwards, Becky Minor and fiance, Herbert Boone all of Sparta, NC, and Vickie and Jerry Saddler of Glade Valley, NC; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers and spouses, Robert and Nancy Glascoe of Galax, VA, and Quincy and Lillie Mae Glascoe of Glade Valley, NC; three sisters and spouse, Marlene Ring of Galax, VA, Ruby Burnett of Bristol, VA, and Grace and Ronnie Amos of Baltimure, MD; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Saddle Creek Church, Independence, VA. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the funeral service. The Rev. Hobert Dowell, Rev. Derek Cowan, Rev. Bill Jenkins and Rev. Bobby Cheeks will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by the Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post 7034. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
