She was born May 8, 1923 the daughter of Raleigh and Dorothy (Morris) Monroe of Bridgeport where she attended school. On December 26, 1941, she married Basil "Ben" B. Sloan at Okanogan. Since their marriage, they have resided at Bridgeport, where they raised wheat. Jean was a member of the F.O.E. Aerie #3708 Auxiliary at Bridgeport. She is survived by her husband, Ben at the home; her three sons, Robert (Janice) Sloan of Bridgeport, Lonnie (Sandy) Sloan of Fresno, CA and Gary (Diane) Sloan of Spanaway; her daughter, Judy Angus of Mansfield; two sisters, Roberta (Fred) Griffith of Ephrata, Jo Ann (Paul) Olson of Kenmore; three brothers, Warren (Betty Jo) Monroe of Kennewick, Don (Billie) Monroe of Bridgeport and John (Lyne) Monroe of Selah; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Dean; and an infant daughter, Dorothy Jean. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Barnes Chapel. Committal Service and Interment to follow at the Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Jean's name to the Bridgeport Ambulance Fund, PO Box 640, Bridgeport, WA 98813. Services under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
