Description	:	THE HOLTON SIGNAL - THURSDAY - SEPTEMBER 26, 1918 Mrs. H. M. Bailey died Tuesday night at her home in this city, following a stroke of paralysis. She is survived by a husband and 8 children, Elmer, Herman, Harland, Roy, Ed, Myrtle, Lois and Arthur. BAILEY-----Jennie Linn Rader, daughter of Benjamin and Katherine Rader, was born May 5, 1857, at Mendota, Ill., and died September 25, 1918, at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 20 days, after an illness of 15 days, the result of a paralytic stroke the afternoon of September 9th. In early girlhood she moved to Quincy, Ill., with her parents and to Beloit, Kan., in the year of 1873, and was united in marriage to Herbert Milton Bailey at that place September 8, 1875, where they made their home until August, 1882, when they moved to Jackson county, residing near Netawaka and Circleville for a period of about twenty years, when they went to Elk Falls, Kan., returning to Holton Aug. 11, 1909, where they have made their home up to the present time. To this union were born nine children, Elmer M., of Havensville; Mable Irene, who died in infancy; Harland M., Herman H., of Holton; C. LeRoy, of Foraker, Okla.; Edgar R. of Holton; Elsie Myrtle Minner, of Soldier; Lois Leona Smith, of Whiting; Arthur L. of Holton, who were all at her bedside, with the exception of Arthur, who is with Co. B, 187th U.S. Infantry in France. She is also survived by her husband and twelve grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, William T. Rader, of Alsea, Ore., Albert L. Rader, of Beloit, Kan.; Mary S. Banks, of Beloit, Kan. and Tillie Gill of Wenatchoe, Wash. She was a devoted Christian woman, having united with Methodist Episcopal church when quite young, continuing faithfully in the service of the Master until the end. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank T. Ryerson assisted by Rev. E. F. Holland, who had been a former pastor of the family, from the Methodist Episcopal church, Thursday afternoon. The sermon text was selected by the family, "God is Love." Many expressions of sympathy were conveyed to the family, including a large number of floral offerings. Burial was made in the Holton cemetery.
