Description	:	Murray - J.B. Murray died at his home in Niles, Kans., Monday, July 22, from injuries received in a run-away. He was 76 years old. The body was brought to Hiawatha Tuesday afternoon and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Nyfeler. He grew to manhood in the state of his birth, later moving to Illinois, where he was united in marriage to Mary Lyman Nov. 14, 1858. A few years later they located in Brown county (sic) on a farm near what is now known as Powhattan. There they resided a greater part of their married life rearing their family of nine children: Mrs. Darl Schmitt, Fairview; Jacob Murray, of Big Valley, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Jacob Richardson, of Fairview; Mrs. Ed Nyfler, of Hiawatha; Mrs. Almer Norris, Wymore, Nebr.; George Murray, of Centralia; Houghton Murray, of Niles, Kans.; Mrs. F.M. Coleman, Powhattan; Frankie, who with the wife have preceded him to the home beyond. Besides his children he has 15 grandchildren; also six great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters to mourn his loss. Uncle Jed, as he was familiarly known, was a pioneer citizen of Brown county (sic). The last three and a half years he and his son Houghton have spent time together on a farm in Ottawa county (sic), Kans., where he died July 22, 1912, at their home at Niles. After suffering all that mortal could he passed peacefully away. All was done to alleviate his last hours by all his children, neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Nyfeler, Wednesday, July 24, 1912. The body bearers were: Wm. Hixson, Thos. Stevens, George Seaman, S. Vanover, A.J. Hill, C.W.
