Description	:	REV. JESSE WITHEE The Rev. Jesse Withee was born May 13, 1906 near Winnetoon to James and Gertie (Nye) Withee and died on April 1, 1994 at Village Senior Living Center in Lincoln. Jesse Withee graduated from Orchard High School in 1925. He attended Wayne State Teachers College and University of Nebraska. Jesse Withee was born May 13, 1906 near Winnetoon to James and Gertie (Nye) Withee and died on April 1, 1994 at Village Senior Living Center in Lincoln. Jesse Withee graduated from Orchard High School in 1925. He attended Wayne State Teachers College and University of Nebraska. He taught public school from 1928-1933 and was a food store manager from 1933-1947. From 1947 until the time of his death, he was an Evangelical United Brethren-United Methodist minister. He served EUB and United Methodist Churches at Vermillion, SD; Logan Center, located near Laurel; Creighton; Johnstown; Wood Lake; _______ and Atkinson, NE. He retired in 1976 and moved to Creighton. He moved to Lincoln after Marie's death in 1977 and remained there until time of death. Withee was united in marriage to Joanne Marie Hansen on October 31, 1931. To this union three children were born, Donald, Roger and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie; his brother, Lester, and his great grandson, Paul Woodell. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Thelma Withee of Oto, Iowa; Chaplain (Col.) Roger and Arlyn Withee of Randolph Air Force Base, Texas and daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Dean Honnen of Lincoln, sister, Ellen Brown of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 4, 1994 in Lincoln and on Tuesday, April 5, 1994 at Orchard United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Orchard Hill Cemetery. The Reverends Gary Aten and Roberta Patterson officiated at the Orchard Service. Casket bearers were grandsons of the deceased.
