Description	:	Born in Ceina,Tn.,she was the daughter of Homer and Hazel (Goodpasture) Gates,and the wife of Ralph Craighead,who survives.In addition to her husband and parents,she is survived by one son,Robert Craighead,Moss;three daughters-Leah Savage,Kathie Ridge,both of Moss;and Donna Ferguson,Memphis,Tn.;and seven grandchildren. Jo Frances graduated from Celina High School in 1948. She attended Lipscomb college for a short time before transferring to Tennessee Polytechnic Institute in Cookeville, Tennessee. She began to work in the Clay County Welfare Dept. about 1954 as the County Director. She left that position in 1960 to be with her children. Somewhere in the mid 60's she began to work with the Clay County School System with the summer school programs and school food service. Clay County under her direction began the very first breakfast program in the state. About 1972 Jo Frances began to work with the Cordell Hull Headstart Program as the director over the 4 county area. She enjoyed watching the program grow and was able to begin many new programs to benefit the children. This is where she was working when she discovered she had lung cancer. The last year of her life she fought a battle against cancer while trying to continue her duties at Cordell Hull. She lost that battle on February 3, 1990 and has been missed by many.
