Brown, was born at Sigourney, Iowa, July 28, 1859, and departed this life at the I.O.O.F. home at Manhattan, Kansas, Nov. 27, 1930. He was united in marriage to Matilda Girard Shoven in 1885. who preceded him in death in 1923. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive him. The children are: Mrs. F. T. He was united in marriage to Matilda Girard Shoven in 1885. who preceded him in death in 1923. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive him. The children are: Mrs. F. T. Siddens, of Manhattan, Kansas: Mrs. Frank Yockers, of Salina; Mrs. C. R. Houtz and Wm Brown of Clyde. Besides the children and ten grandchildren, Mr. Brown also leaves to mourn his departure one brother, Charley Brown, of Garden City, Kansas; and one sister Mrs. Libby Drow, of Sigourney, Iowa. Mr. Brown came to Kansas over fifty years ago and settles in Clyde where he made his home until about two years ago, when he went to the Odd Fellows home, as he had been a member of that order for thirty-two years. Dick, as he was commonly known to the people of this neighborhood, was a friend to everyone he knew. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church last Sunday afternoon at 2:00, with the pastor of that church officiating. Interment was made in the Mt. Hope cemetery.
