She was united in marriage to Joseph Shoven in 1878 and to this union were born one son and two daughters; two of whom preceded her in death and one, Mrs. Minnie Green of Whiting, Kansas who survives. Read More	Clyde Voice Republican, April 26, 1923 Matilda Girard was born at Kankakee, Illinois March 15, 1863 and departed this life at her home in Clyde, Kansas on April 20, 1923. Aged 60 years, 1 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph Shoven in 1878 and to this union were born one son and two daughters; two of whom preceded her in death and one, Mrs. Minnie Green of Whiting, Kansas who survives. In 1885, she was united in a second marriage to Richard Brown of this city. And to this union were born four children, Wm Brown, Clyde, Kansas; Mrs. Frank Yokes, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mrs. Cecil Houtz, Clyde, Kansas; and Mrs. Fred Siddens, of Manhattan, Kansas. She came to Kansas some 40 years ago and lived in this locality since that time. She was a kind wife and mother, a ? Christian all of her life, a member of the Catholic Church and did her best to follow in the footsteps of Jesus the Christ. She leaves to mourn the departure, besides the named above, 7 grandchildren, relatives, and many friends. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Rev. J. W.
