He was a lifelong resident of the Clyde community and was respected for his integrity and loyalty to those for whom he worked. He was employed at the Clyde mill for several years. Read More	Clyde Republican (Clyde, Kansas) August 6, 1959 William O. Brown was born in April of 1889 at Clyde, Kansas and departed this life August 2, 1959 having reached the age of 70 years. He was a lifelong resident of the Clyde community and was respected for his integrity and loyalty to those for whom he worked. He was employed at the Clyde mill for several years. He was industrious and a kind father and husband. He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge of Clyde. In 1909 he was united in marriage to Rose Ann Menard and to this union were born six children. Preceding him in death was one daughter, Vera. Left to mourn his departure is his wife, Rose Brown, and five children: Mrs. George Hale, Homer and Gene and Charles Brown of Clyde and Freddie Brown of Valdez, Alaska; also nine grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Vera Yockers of Salina and Mrs. Cecil Houtz of Clyde. Funeral services were conducted at the Clyde Presbyterian church on August 5th at 9:30 with the Rev. J. Orville Bookless of the Methodist church officiating and the Chaput Funeral service in charge. Interment was made in the Mt. Hope cemetery. Out of town relatives here for the services included Mr. and Mrs. Claude Brummett, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yoder, Mrs. Elizabeth Sprague, Mrs. Robert Burns and son, Bobby, Concordia, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Carter from Dallas, Texas and Freddie O. Brown from Valdez, Alaska.
