He was the seventh child in a family of nine born to John and Mary Sergeant Eberhardt. He died at the age of 85 in St. Joseph's hospital, Concordia, Feb. 21, 1969. He married Alice Abbott of Glasco Dec. 23, 1904. One son, Virgil, was born to this union. Alice Eberhardt's death occurred Dec. 28, 1918. He married Gertrude McKinney McFaden of Webber, Kan., Jan. 30, 1921. A son John was born to this union. Gertrude Eberhardt preceded her husband in death by a few months, June 10, 1968. Johnny Eberhardt lived all his life in the Glasco community except for the years 1949 to 1956 when he lived in the Denver area. He farmed the major part of his adult life in the Fisher Creek community. After moving to Glasco in 1940 he worked for the Plush Mills for most of the period until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of the school board of the Fisher Creek school for several years. An active and devoted member of the Methodist Church, he served the church as superintendent of the Sunday School among other capacities. His survivors include a sister, Leola Rogers, Concordia; a brother, Walter Eberhardt, Kansas City, Kans.; his son and daughter-in-law, Virgil A. and Eunice Eberhardt, Littleton, Colo.; his son John L. Eberhardt, Reno, Nev.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Robert Brenton, Denver, and Barbara Eberhardt, Westminster, Colo.; two great-granddaughters, Jill and Gayle Brenton, Denver; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church of Glasco with the Rev. Robert Priest officiating. Ray Ball, Fred Harper, Ed Horn, Jack Jordan and Earl Plush, all of Glasco, and Elza Louthan of Barnard served as pallbearers. Music was provided by Bernece Harper and Nona Harper with Phyllis Struble at the organ. Burial was in the Glasco Cemetery. Dean Funeral Home was in charge.
