HIS INJURIES FATAL John Paxston was born on February 4, 1859 in Rome, Henry county, Iowa and died at St. Anthony's hospital at Sabetha on Sunday October 5, at 7:30 p.m. of injuries he received while engaged in his occupation of well drilling at the Lamping farm east of Seneca, six days previously. Mr. Paxston was doing as well as could be expected until Saturday when he lapsed into unconsciousness and gradually failed until the end. Mr.Paxston was married at Pawnee City, Nebraska on September 19, 1898 to Mrs. Sophronia Brewer of Pawnee City, Nebraska, from whom he is divorced. He leaves of his immediate family, brothers and sisters: his twin brother, Jabez Paxston of Seneca; Charles U. of Anaheim, Calif.; Clint of Moravia, Iowa; Mrs. Nora Van Blaricome of Auburn, Ill.; Frank of Moravia, Iowa; and Hagar H. in Buffalo, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerrod and Emily Jane Paxston, his brother and sisters, Charles M., Elizabeth Jane Wolcott, Carrie Marilda Walden and one who died in infancy. Mr. Paxston had lived in Kansas and the county since Joy 1881 where he has been engaged in farming and well drilling. He was an honest industrious man and in his last illness was patient and considerate of others. The funeral services were held from the Congregational church in Seneca on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Arthur W. Taylor. The interment was made in the city cemetery.
