Description	:	JOHN QUINN DIES SUDDENLY John Quinn was born the 14th day of April, in the year 1864, at Kentland in the state of Indiana. In 1879, he came to Nebraska, locating in Furnas County, and has ever since lived in this county. In 1884 he was joined in marriage to Lillie Cridlebaugh and to this union were born eleven children, three of whom died in infancy. Read More	JOHN QUINN DIES SUDDENLY John Quinn was born the 14th day of April, in the year 1864, at Kentland in the state of Indiana. In 1879, he came to Nebraska, locating in Furnas County, and has ever since lived in this county. In 1884 he was joined in marriage to Lillie Cridlebaugh and to this union were born eleven children, three of whom died in infancy. Surviving with the widow are the following named children: Tressie Maggard, residing at Minden, Mo.; George Quinn, living near Oxford; Jessie Askey, living in Oxford; Anna Longsine and Sylvia Davenport, residing at Stamford; Maggie Longsine, living at Orleans; and Nellie Quinn and Joseph Quinn, at home. Nineteen grandchildren round out the number of his descendants, and recall the families of a generation ago, families upon which the divine blessing has rested, and which have wrought great things in the world. Mr. Quinn also leaves five living brothers and three sisters, of whom William lives at Sheldon, Illinois; James at Denver, Colo.; Michael at Hollinger, Mrs. Maggie Maggard at Culbertson, and the others in the vicinity of Oxford (Tom, Mrs. Ella Wagerman, Joe and Mrs. Anna Berner). Mr. Quinn should be counted among the old settlers of Furnas County, and has doubtless in his steadfest attachment to the life of a farmer, experienced all the adversities of the earlier years, has labored unceasingly through drought and storm, the blizzards of winter and the hot, destroying winds of summer, contentedly caring for those of his own household, asking no public favors of his neighbors, willing always to minister to the public good. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from the auditorium, Rev. I. W. Edson, pastor of the Baptist Church officiating, and the body was laid to rest in the Oxford cemetery.
