Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon in the Presbyterian church in Loup City by the Rev. James. E. Harris. Pallbearers were six cousins of Mrs. Paige: Glen, Ralph, Jim, Howard, and Harry Fletcher, and Merle Emery. Josie Talbot was born Sept. 18, 1888, to Dr. N. L. Talbot and Mary E. Talbot near Wiggle Creek. At the time of her death, April 16, 1950, at the Sacred Heart hospital in Loup City, she was 61 years, six months, and 29 days of age. On April 22, 1908, she married Park Paige. To this union were born five children: Harold of Grand Island; Alonzo of Loup City; Florence Nelson of Loup City; Elbridge of Bozeman, Mont.; and Ruth Ambrose of Corvalis, Ore. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Alonzo Daddow of Loup City, and a brother, Dr. W. F. Talbot of Palo Alto, Calif.; seven grandchildren, and other relatives. Her parents, a brother, and a sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Paige spent part of her early life at Wiggle Creek, moving to Boelus at the age of eight. When 16, she returned to Sherman county, spending her time in the Austin community until moving into Loup City in 1947. She was a member of the Austin Presbyterian church and took a part in its Sunday school until the church was discontinued. She then transferred her membership to the Loup City Presbyterian church. She was a member of the Industrial Society; the auxiliaries of the V.F.W. and American Legion; and was a Charter member of the Loup City Woman's Club. She was president of the Inter-County Federation of Women's Clubs for two terms. She taught two terms of school in her home district during her early life, and during the past two years she has taught in the Clear Creek school. The Sherman County Times - Apr 20 1950
