Description	:	June R. Tollefson, 97, of rural Hiawatha, KS died Sunday afternoon, July 8, 2012 at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha where she had been a resident for the past 18 months. She was born June 10, 1915 in Hiawatha, KS the daughter of George T. and Ruth Beckwith Miller. She grew up and attended schools in Hiawatha. June was a schoolteacher in the Claytonville Community prior to marrying Thomas Tollefson. They were married in Hiawatha, May 22, 1937. She was born June 10, 1915 in Hiawatha, KS the daughter of George T. and Ruth Beckwith Miller. She grew up and attended schools in Hiawatha. June was a schoolteacher in the Claytonville Community prior to marrying Thomas Tollefson. They were married in Hiawatha, May 22, 1937. They lived their married life and raised four sons in rural Hiawatha where she was active and participated in the farming for many years. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Horton where she was the organist for many years and very active in ABW. Also she was active in K.K.Club, and HOA club. She is survived by four sons, George (Bettie) Tollefson of Lenexa, KS, Robert (Beverly) Tollefson, Keith (Connie) Tollefson, and Roger Tollefson all of Hiawatha, KS. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. June was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie AnnetteTollefson, two sisters, Inez Lee and Esther Allen, and a grandson, Dennis Tollefson. Funeral Services are planned for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Horton. Pastor Pat Lovitt will officiate. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha.
