Description	:	Katherine Gibbs Clore, 97, of Madison, died peacefully Sunday, April 19, 2009, at home. She was born September 28, 1911, the daughter of the late Bernard Scott and Corneila Estes Gibbs. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Clore; a daughter, Nancy C. Carpenter Robson; three brothers, Ray, Jim and "Bunny" Gibbs; and one sister, Anna G. Jones. Read More	Katherine Gibbs Clore, 97, of Madison, died peacefully Sunday, April 19, 2009, at home. She was born September 28, 1911, the daughter of the late Bernard Scott and Corneila Estes Gibbs. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Clore; a daughter, Nancy C. Carpenter Robson; three brothers, Ray, Jim and "Bunny" Gibbs; and one sister, Anna G. Jones. Surviving are a daughter, Alma Katherine Craft and her husband, Lonnie, of Roanoke; a sister, Marilyn Seale and her husband, Homer, of Madison; a son-in-law, Charles H. Robson; three granddaughters; Hope Wood and her husband, Steve, of Fredericksburg, Deanne McGhee and her husband, Hugh, of Madison, and Susan Martin and her husband, Tim, of Buchanan; one grandson, Dale Carpenter and his wife, Karen, of Roanoke; a step-granddaughter, Kathleen Estes; 12 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Cheryl Dawson; and a special nephew, Ronnie Seale; along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mrs. Clore was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church, charter member of the Madison County Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and a member of the Colonial Dames of the Montpelier Chapter DAR. Katherine was many things to many people - Mama, Sister, Mee-Maw, Aunt Sis. She left a lasting mark on us all. She taught us to cook, to garden, to sew, to crochet, a love of birds and nature and to laugh in the sunshine and sing. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to her dedicated and loving caregivers, Jeanette Butler, Synnovia Jackson, Gloria Moore, and Pat Turner, and also to Hospice of the Rapidan. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, at Preddy Funeral Home, Madison. A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Hebron Lutheran Church, conducted by Pastor Karen Taylor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 255, Madison, VA 22727; Madison Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
