Description	:	Laura E Martin Ruse Clark was the daughter of Joseph Martin and Elizabeth Lintner. The family lived in Ohio until the death of Joseph in 1855. After her father's death, Laura came to Fremont County, Iowa by covered wagon with her widowed mother, one sister, and three brothers. They located on a farm north of Sidney. The family lived in Ohio until the death of Joseph in 1855. After her father's death, Laura came to Fremont County, Iowa by covered wagon with her widowed mother, one sister, and three brothers. They located on a farm north of Sidney. Laura married John William Ruse in Fremont County on 10 Jan 1878. John and his first wife, Amy Bagley (dau/o Russia Bagley and Rebecca Newell), had two daughters. Their youngest, Hettie May, died at a young age and is buried in IL. Amy died in 1876 in Fremont Co, IA at the age of 36 years. Laura and John had four children together, as well as daughter Celoria from John's first marriage. Their children were David Oscar Ruse, Grace Helena Ruse (Hilton), Charles Robert Ruse, and Richard Graham Ruse. John Ruse died in 1891. Laura married Oscar A Clark on 18 Oct 1899. They located on a farm near Randolph where they lived until Oscar's death in 1916. In 1920 she made her home with her daughter, Grace Hilton, who lived in Glenwood, Iowa. Laura suffered a broken hip the year prior to her death. Complications later set in which resulted in her death. She died at the age of 86 years 8 months 26 days.
