Description	:	Lee Lawrence Lincoln, 66, of Potomac, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 27, 2008, after an off-and-on battle with cancer for 26 years. Lee was born August 2, 1940, in Havre, to Edgar and Marie (Packer) Lincoln. He spent his childhood and teenage years on the family farm north of Rudyard, attending Oreana School, a one-room country school house in Hill County, his first four years of school and then continued his schooling in Rudyard, graduating high school in 1959. Read More	Lee Lawrence Lincoln, 66, of Potomac, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 27, 2008, after an off-and-on battle with cancer for 26 years. Lee was born August 2, 1940, in Havre, to Edgar and Marie (Packer) Lincoln. He spent his childhood and teenage years on the family farm north of Rudyard, attending Oreana School, a one-room country school house in Hill County, his first four years of school and then continued his schooling in Rudyard, graduating high school in 1959. In high school, he competed in football and basketball all four years. He was a member of the school band as well. After high school, Lee attended Montana State College where he played football one year. He also attended Eastern Montana College in Billings. Lee married his best friend, Karol Loftstrom, in Great Falls on May 25, 1963. They lived and worked in Great Falls, Helena and on the Hi-Line before moving to the Missoula area in 1968. Lee worked in the timber industry for more than 30 years as a millwright. He worked for Evans Products and the Champion/Stimpson plywood plant. Between employment in the mills, he worked as a carpet salesman. He became a full-time retired man in 2002. Lee was active in the community. He coached and managed Little League baseball for nearly 20 years. He was a volunteer fireman for over 25 years, finally retiring as chief of the East Missoula Fire Department. From the time he moved to Missoula, Lee was involved in the South Hills Evangelical Church. He served at different times as Sunday school teacher, youth advisor, elder, trustee and buss driver. He served as a delegate to the annual Western Conference sessions of the Evangelical Church and on the board of directors of the Beartooth Mountain Christian Ranch for many years. Lee loved horses, children, and his family. He was happiest when there were kids around and he always had time to play with them. Lee will be remembered as very loyal and helpful to his family. He had horses most of his life and in recent years started raising colts. He was a member of Back Country Horseman and rode as often as he could. Survivors include his wife Karol of Bonner; son Kelly of Washington; daughter Kim Kaleva and family (husband Kelly, daughter Vanessa and son Tyler) of Missoula; siblings Joe (Sandra) Lincoln of Rudyard, Art (Janice) Lincoln of Arizona and Ruth (Fred) Newton of California. A memorial service will be held at the SHEC Church in Missoula at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 4. Pastors John Erbele and Dale Erbele will be officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Lincoln, Carl Smart, Randy Velin, Bob Brunson, Andy Wirth and Les Zimmerman. A memorial account to benefit the East Missoula Fire Department and Mount Jumbo Little League has been set up in Lee name. Contributions can be made at any branch of the Gateway Community Federal Credit Union.
