Glasco Sun, Jan. 2, 1941, page 3: Miss Leona Frankfather was born in Woods Co., Ohio, September 22, 1857, and died at her home on E. 7th St., Concordia, Kansas, December 24, 1940, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 3 days. At the age of ten months, she had a paralytic stroke, which left her entire left side crippled, and her arm totally helpless. At the age of 12, she moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Frankfather, to Nebraska. On November 13, 1871 she came to Glasco, Kansas and lived here until 1890. At this time she moved to Rodgers, Ark., and lived there until 1897, moving to Boulder, Colo., that year. In 1899 she returned to Glasco and lived here until 1929. It was in this year that she fell and broke her hip, and was taken to the Concordia hospital on April 20. After seven months, she moved to the home of Eugene Frankfather in Concordia, where she lived eight months. On June 8, 1936, Inga Hansen received her into her home for care until her death. She leaves one sister and three brothers to mourn her loss. They are: Mrs. Cora Thompson of Aurora; Ote Frankfather of Glasco; and Ed Frankfather of Kingman, Arizona; also many nieces and nephews, as well as close relatives and friends. Miss Frankfather was a firm believer in her Lord. During her long siege of suffering, as well as eleven years of confinement to her bed, she was very patient. Now she has gone to her eternal home, where there are joy and comfort. A short funeral service was conducted at the graveside in Glasco cemetery, by Rev. R.R. Braddick, pastor of the Glasco Methodist Church, at 1:30 p.m. on December 26th.
