Frankforther, at her home in Glasco, during the night of the 12th of Dec., 1901. The people here knew that she was in poor health, but little did they think that the end was so near. She had spoken several times during the last few months that she thought when the time came for her departure, she would go suddenly. She seemed to have a premonition that she would breathe her last while asleep. When found in the cold chill of death, she had all the appearance of one in a sweet sleep. The head rested upon the open hand on the pillow in the usual way of sleeping but the sad reality of death was fixed upon her brow. Deceased was born in Trumble Co., Ohio, June 10th, 1834. Was married to Jacob Frankforther in Wood county the same state, on Oct. 9th, 1853, and with whom she lived until his death in Glasco, some twenty years ago. There were born to this union 12 children, Elizabeth J. Horry, Leona I., Levi E., Eugene B., Edward D., Cora E., Linas O., and Isa I. -- these are still living; and Charles F., Francis E., William C. and James E., who have passed on before to the spirit world. At the time of her death she was aged 67 years, 6 months and 3 days. She had done well her part in the home and community and she will be missed everywhere. Her hands and heart were always employed in behalf of others. If there ever was a more self-sacrificing person in this or any other community, we all fail to know it. Even when too weak, by reason of her age and infirmity, to accomplish much for herself and others, she still planned to help others in distress. She had only a week or two before her death mended a lot of clothes for some motherless children. She was a mother to all who needed her loving help and wise counsel. She was a true Christian and demonstrated her faith in good works as well as in the expression of trust in her Savior. Her counsels were always good. Deceased left Ohio for Nebraska in June 1870, and from there came to Glasco in the month of November. She lived here until the fall of 1890, when she moved to Rogers, Arkansas, remaining there until May, 1899, when she moved again to Concordia, where she remained until May 1899, when she moved again to Glasco and lived here until her death. She is mourned by all. She has left behind a fragrance of her true and loving life that will linger long after the present generation shall pass away. Funeral services were conducted on the 15th inst. by Rev. B.F. McMillan at the Presbyterian church and Glasco cemetery. The children extend their sincere thanks to all who assisted in the care and burial of their dear mother.
