Description	:	Levina Schwendinger, age 95 of Dubuque and formerly of Monticello died Thursday morning, August 2, 2007 at Mercy Medial Center, Dubuque. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, August 4, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rev. Keith Birch will officiate at the services. Levina M. Rea was born March 13, 1912 at Bernard, Iowa. She was the daughter of James A. and Margaret Kinsella, Rea. Levina attended the Fillmore school through 10th Grade. She finished her education at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Dubuque and at Mt. St. Francis. Levina taught at St. Mary's Catholic School in Dubuque and Beckman in Dyersville. Levina Rea and Louis Schwendinger were married June 30 1936 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fillmore. The couple farmed in the Epworth and Fillmore areas. In 1945 they moved to Monticello where Levina taught for a year at Sacred Heart Catholic School. She volunteered at the school for many years there after. In 2000 the couple moved to Dubuque and resided at Stone Hill. Louis preceded her in death on September 24, 2006 after 70 years of marriage.
