Sterling, died in the McCready Hospital Monday morning. He had been admitted the previous day, suffering with a heart attack. He was 87 years of age. STERLING BURIED WEDNESDAY DIED AT AGE OF 87 ON MONDAY One of the community's best known and prominent citizens, Mr. Littleton T. Sterling, died in the McCready Hospital Monday morning. He had been admitted the previous day, suffering with a heart attack. He was 87 years of age. Born in Crisfield in 1866, he was the son of the late Jack and Mary Sterling, and he resided here for most of his life. Mr. Sterling was a waterman as long as he was active. He was well versed in all phases of seafood, and well acquainted with the waters of Tangier and Pocomoke Sounds and the Chesapeake Bay. A kindly and well liked man, he had made many friends during his long life, who enjoyed his companionship. He had been a useful and active citizen, helpful to many, and was held in high regard and esteem. He rested at the Covington Funeral Home until noon Wednesday. Funeral services were held in Asbury Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert E. Green, the pastor, officiating. Interment was in the family plot in Asbury cemetery. Bearers were Allison Hall, Isaac Dorsey, Oscar Christy, Eugene Tawes, Leon Sterling and Alonzo (Ducky) Nelson. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Sterling, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Gillette, both of Crisfield, two sons, Aaron Sterling of Baltimore and William Sterling of Crisfield, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
