Description	:	Funeral services for Louis J. Weber, 67, were held at the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon. Rev. John C. Bruce, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiated. Mr. Weber died at his home in Dunlap early Sunday morning following several months of failing health. He had been a patient in the Denver hospital for several weeks this summer, before returning to his home in Dunlap. John C. Bruce, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiated. Mr. Weber died at his home in Dunlap early Sunday morning following several months of failing health. He had been a patient in the Denver hospital for several weeks this summer, before returning to his home in Dunlap. Music was furnished by the Lutheran Women's Sextette: Mrs. William Walvoord, Mrs. Arnold Casperson, Mrs. Leonard Orlowski, Mrs. W. L. Reichelt, Mrs. Dan Weller and Maxine Olmstead, accompanied by Mrs. R. G. Moore at the organ. Burial was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barrett Funeral Home. Golden Rule Lodge No. 178 of the IOOF assisted at the graveside service. Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were: Wayne Schaupp, Robert Von Ahnen, Harvey Weber, Ray Weber, Leonard Buter and Bernard Berens. Ushers were Delbert Seda and Edwin Johnson. Immediate survivors include his wife, Bertha; four brothers: Peter, Franz, Henry and Herman; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Berens and Mrs. Emma Pedersen, all of Dunlap, besides many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ben and Alfred and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Buter. Louis John Weber was born Oct. 23, 1885 on a farm near Charter Oak, the eldest son of Peter F. and Sophie Oestman Weber. He died at his home in Dunlap October 26, 1952 at the age of 67 years and 3 days. In his infancy he was baptised into the Lutheran Church taking his confirmation vows from Rev. Schlieser of Glidden, March 28, 1902. March 1, 1908 he moved with his parents to the home place six miles northwest of Dunlap where he resided until his marriage February 26, 1913 to Bertha Schaupp. He was engaged in farming in this area until his retirement in 1940 when they purchased the house next to the Lutheran Church, of which he was an active member until his recent illness. He served as lay-representative to the Synod until 1950. He added his efforts to those of Rev. R. C. Dahlke in effecting the transfer of St. John's Lutheran church from the old Iowa Synod which later became the American Lutheran Church in a merger to the United Lutheran Church in America which was accomplished in 1930. He affiliated with the Dunlap Odd Fellow lodge in February 1918, and was a past Noble Grand of the Order. Among those from out of town attending the services Tuesday were: Mr. and Mrs. John C. Robert Weber of Hastings, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. William Kubel and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Cook of Fremont, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schaupp of Manilla; Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Pedersen of Dow City; and Mrs. Fred Markert of Omaha.
