Description	:	Louis was the first of nine children. He attended the nearby school and was confirmed at the Reformed Church at Hunt's Corners. On November 18, 1885, he married Elizabeth "Libbie" Hartman. They established their home on a farm first purchased by his father. Louis and Libbie had five children. Louis pursued primarily farming but also operated a grain threshing rig as well as a straw and hay baler. They established their home on a farm first purchased by his father. Louis and Libbie had five children. Louis pursued primarily farming but also operated a grain threshing rig as well as a straw and hay baler. In common with his father, he had a keen interest in race horses and kept a track on his farm. And like others in his family, he served on the church board at Hunt's Corners and played the organ. In 1901, at the age of 44, Louis held a sale of his farm equipment and retired from active farming. Louis and Libbie continued to live on the same farm, and on Sunday, November 17, 1935, they observed their Golden Anniversary with a reception at their home.
