Description	:	Although known as Jennette, her name at birth was Johannette. She was one of nine children born to Anton and Johannette Katherine (Maus) Scheid. Her mother, Johannette Katherine, was born on Nov. 1, 1807 in Huppert, Duchy of Nassau, Germany, the daughter of Marie Katherine Hennemann and Johann Philipp Maus. Her father, Anton, was born June 18, 1801 at Heistenbach, Germany, the son of Anna Katharine Heck of Holzheim, Germany, and Anton Scheid. Her father, Anton, was born June 18, 1801 at Heistenbach, Germany, the son of Anna Katharine Heck of Holzheim, Germany, and Anton Scheid. Two older brothers, William and John Peter, emigrated to the United States in 1852. Jennette, her parents, and three siblings, Katharina, Emma and Charles, arrived in 1854. They settled on a farm near Pontiac, Huron Co., Ohio. (Katharina, the sister, was the first wife of John Henry Heymann, brother of this subject's husband.) Jennette married John Philip Heymann on April 17, 1856, her 19th birthday. They settled in the vicinity of Hunt's Corners and were the parents of nine children: Louis Philip (b. 1857) Frank William (b. 1858) Otillie (b. 1860) Theophilus D. (b. 1862) William Anthony (b. 1864) Jeannette N. (b. 1867) Julia Elizabeth (b. 1869) Flora Margaret (b. 1871) Lydia Otilda (b. 1873). One year, they suffered the misfortune of having their house burn on Christmas Eve. It was eventually rebuilt, but in 1873, they moved to the Joseph Wood homestead just north of Hunt's Corners.
