Description	:	Mabel Sybilla Sawyer, daughter of Phillip (sic) and Susan Duey Throne, was born July 7, 1888, on a farm near Chester, and died at the Blue Valley Home in Hebron on Jan. 28, 1967. She received her education in the Republic County, Kansas schools, graduating from Munden High School, and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for a short time. Read More	Mabel Sybilla Sawyer, daughter of Phillip (sic) and Susan Duey Throne, was born July 7, 1888, on a farm near Chester, and died at the Blue Valley Home in Hebron on Jan. 28, 1967. She received her education in the Republic County, Kansas schools, graduating from Munden High School, and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for a short time. Mrs. Sawyer had united with the Methodist Church in Munden as a youth, and transferred her membership to the Methodist Church in Chester on April 27, 1912. She was united in marriage to Chester Sawyer on Dec. 25, 1917, and to this union two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 10, 1966, her mother in 1933, and father in 1940. Survivors include her daughters: Miss Wilma Faye of Beatrice; Lorene and her husband, Harmon Gilkeson of Chester; one sister, Mrs. Florence Crump, and one brother, Will Throne, both of Chester; four grandchildren, Ronald, Robert, Ann and David Gilkeson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the Methodist Church of Chester, Rev. Marlon Loftis, in charge. The singers were Mrs. Howard Reed and Mrs. Melvin Crouse, accompanied by Mrs. Dolan Frye, at the organ. Pallbearers were Joe Duey, Frank Larkins, Howard Reed, E.G. Nesmith, Edwin Hoops and Charles Kuhlmann. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Those from out of town who attended memorial service February 1 for Mrs. Chester Sawyer included Mr. and Mrs. Don Graham of Ashland, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Highland, Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Beal and Miss Marion Rist of Beatrice.
