THRONE CALLED BY DEATH The community was saddened by the passing of a long-time resident of Chester, P.A. Throne. He passed away Thursday morning, June 6th. OBITUARY Philip A. Throne son of Conrad and Christine Throne was born in Pennsylvania, Aug. 1, 1860 and on June 6, 1940, with his faith strong in Jesus the Lord he entered into rest. He was 79 years, 10 months and 5 days at the time of his death. On Dec. 17, 1885 he was united in holy matrimony with Mary S. Duey. Their home was blessed with three children. Two daughters and one son. In the Spring of 1886, he left Pennsylvania and arrived at Chester, Nebr. on the 2nd day of March. So it can be said of him, he was one of the pioneers who helped to transform these prairies into a thriving community with fine farm homes, and Churches as well as schools. Most of his life has been lived in and around Chester. Mr. Throne was converted when the Crusaders held their meeting in Chester. At this time he became a member of the Methodist Church, and through the years, has been a loyal supporter of its work. He leaves to mourn his departure, the three children, Mrs. Florence Crump, Mrs. Mabel S. Sawyer, and Will Throne all of Chester, two brothers Elmer L. Throne, and Albert E. Throne of Chester, one sister, Mrs. Amanda Sounders of Rippey, Iowa, two grandchildren Wilma Faye Sawyer and Lorene Sawyer, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and host of friends. Two grandchildren, Ruth Ellen and Marjorie Louise Throne, with his wife Mary Throne have preceded him in death. Breathe on me, Breath of God, Fill me with life anew, That I may love what thou dost love, And do what thou wouldst do. Breath on me, Breath of God, So shall I never die, But live with thee, the perfect life Of thine eternity.
