Description	:	Taken from the Brown County World, Sept. 25, 1903 Magdalene Zimmerman was born in Canton, Bern, Switzerland, in 1821. She came with her parents to this country when she was 12 years old and was married to John S. Zimmerman in 1848. They came to Brown County in 1870 and had ever since lived on their farm south of the city. Mrs. Zimmerman died at their home Monday afternoon, September 21. Read More	Taken from the Brown County World, Sept. 25, 1903 Magdalene Zimmerman was born in Canton, Bern, Switzerland, in 1821. She came with her parents to this country when she was 12 years old and was married to John S. Zimmerman in 1848. They came to Brown County in 1870 and had ever since lived on their farm south of the city. Mrs. Zimmerman died at their home Monday afternoon, September 21. Of the seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman four survive her, all of whom were here at the funeral: Mrs. Chris Sweitzer, of Scott City, Kansas.; Ed and Will Zimmerman of this city, and Charles Zimmerman, of La Junta, Colo. Mrs. Catherine Zimmerman is the only surviving sister. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Reformed church conducted by her pastor, Rev. L. L. Hassenpflug, assisted by Rev. J. A. Hunsicker, of Fairview. S. E. Friend, J. B. Hinthorn, Miss Luella Neibling and Miss Elizabeth Burke sang. The pall bearers were her six nephews: Henry, Dan, Oscar, Leslie and Leo Zimmerman and Phil Heimlich. Interment was made in the Hiawatha Cemetery. Mrs. Zimmerman has for several years been sadly afflicted, being both deaf and blind, but she has become to those who knew her a pattern of patience. Her unassuming way has endeared her to all who have known her.
