Description	:	Obituary: Died, in Muscatine, Iowa, February 16th, 1910, after a prolonged illness, Mrs. Margaret Smith, at the advanced age of 87 years, 1 month and 20 days. Margaret Burnett was born in Wooster, Ohio, Dec. 27, 1822, and was united in marriage to J. S. Smith on July 6, 1843. After a residence of several years in Mansfield the family removed to Iowa, in 1855, settling in Iowa township, Cedar county, which became their permanent home. Read More	Obituary: Died, in Muscatine, Iowa, February 16th, 1910, after a prolonged illness, Mrs. Margaret Smith, at the advanced age of 87 years, 1 month and 20 days. Margaret Burnett was born in Wooster, Ohio, Dec. 27, 1822, and was united in marriage to J. S. Smith on July 6, 1843. After a residence of several years in Mansfield the family removed to Iowa, in 1855, settling in Iowa township, Cedar county, which became their permanent home. Nine children were born to this union, five of whom live to mourn their mother's death. Dec. 2, 1899, the husband and father passed away and since then the now deceased wife and mother has resided with her son on the home place near Springdale. Early in life she united with the Lutheran church, and subsequently became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination, retaining the connection to the close of her life. A good wife and mother, a kind obliging neighbor; her death will be deplored by a large circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Miss Ford, Friends pastor at Springdale, in the Pedee Presbyterian church Friday at 11 a.m., in the presence of a large congregation. The casket was covered with beautiful floral offerings and the words spoken were of fitting tribute to a long and well spent life.
