Description	:	Mrs. Margaret Dirks Monticello - Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Sophia Dirks, 89, widow of Will Dirks, were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Dirks died Jan. 5 at John McDonald hospital after a long illness. She was born at Hanover, Germany, Jan 3, 1882, the daughter of Dietrich and Margaret Bodeker Dirks. She came with her parents to Monticello while still an infant. She was married to Will Dirks, May 22, 1902. They farmed in the Monticello area until retiring in 1937. Mr. Dirks died Nov. 25, 1959. Mrs. Dirks was a lifetime member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church. She is survived by seven children: Mrs. Grace Hanley, Peoria, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Hinrichs, Amber; Mrs. Otis (Edna) Thomas, Clinton; Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Gerdes, Dixon, Ill.; George D. , Amber; Louis R, Naperville, Ill.; Clarence, Clinton. Also 28 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William (Matie) Oltmanns, Anamosa; two brothers, Gerd, Wyoming, and Henry, Anamosa. She was also preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, a grandson, two brothers and four sisters. Casketbearers were Stanley Wroblewski, Robert Dirks, Raymond Hinrichs, Robert L.
